It Started With Five Brushes

Head Jog began in the early 1990s with just five brushes.

In 1996, Alison and David Brunton took the business forward growing Head Jog from those original five brushes into the extensive range of
professional hair tools it is today.

A lot has changed since then - There was no online shopping, no social media and mobile phones were practically the size of a house brick.

But the fundamentals haven't changed - Make great products. Listen to the people who use them. Keep improving.

Today, Head Jog products are used by professional stylists, salons, barbers and home users who want great tools without the unnecessary price tag.

We're not a huge corporate business.

We're a family-run team, which means we can make decisions quickly, try new ideas and actually listen to the people around us.

We don't have a meeting to decide when to have a meeting.

If we like a product, we talk about it. If we think something could be better, we work out how to improve it.

And sometimes the boardroom table becomes the dinner table, where new ideas are discussed over a bottle – or two – of wine.

5,000 Brush Kits.
One Family.

One of our favourite Head Jog stories started with the Quad Brush Set. The set became so popular that we couldn't make the kits quickly enough, so the family got involved.

Alison's mum, along with Sam and Annabel – who were just 10 and 7 at the time – helped put the kits together. Between them, they made more than 5,000 brush kits before we eventually started importing them ready-made.

The Quad Brush Set is still part of the Head Jog range today.

And whenever we discuss creating a new brush kit, the children are always quick to remind us: "Make sure this one comes ready-made!"
